Jupiter Ascending Movie review (5 out of 10)

Where do I start?
I love Mila Kunis. I love Sci-Fi. I love special effects. I loved the plot line. I have a man-crush on Channing Tatum and Sean Bean (although his name makes me laugh).
So why did I not love the movie?
First let me say that it gets 5 stars out of 10 (5/10).
I think all the special effects ruined it for me. I found myself not really understanding what was going on during these prolonged fight scenes or space ship battle scenes. There was one in particular that seemed to last forever where the baddies were coming after Kunis and Tatum in Chicago via flying machines. I kept thinking to myself-"I really cannot tell who is the good guys and who are the bad guys and how it is going". Not a good sign in the middle of the movie.
Another distracting element seemed to be the fact that there were several instances where Tatum just had to break through some defense to rescue Kunis. The first time-cool, second time-oh, third time-boring.
Maybe it was because I saw it on a DVD rental and now IMAX.
Oh well....

Gone Girl excellent movie

Gone Girl Review
I did not read the book but instead saw the movie. Wow! A great thriller. Lots of plot twists and turns. I understand the author Gillian Flynn also developed the screen adaption of her book.

My first impression is this was a well thought-out, intelligent movie with an exciting cast. Ben Affleck is Nick, Rosamund Pike
Amy his wife. They both manipulate each other in their marriage and use social media to do so. The 24 hour news farce is also parodied.

The best description I can give (and the highest praise) is to say it reminded me of a modern day Hitchcock movie. It could have deviated with more violence or shock but instead it provided a steady thrill ride with just the right amount of "shock and awe" to keep me riveted to my seat for over 2 hours.

I recommend you go and see it. But be ready for an exciting thriller that will have you thinking for days after viewing it.

Chris Pike and Rosamund Pike Would Be Perfect As Sean and Emile In Novel Just One More...

Readers have asked who would be the perfect actor and actress to play the different characters in any film adaption of Just One More..
While talk of a film about Just One More… is very premature I have offered up a few choices for fans to ponder.

Chris Pike would be perfect Sean.

Rosamund Pike (not related to Chris Pike) I think could make a great Emile. Of course Rosamund just finished Gone Girl so she might not be attainable based on her rise in popularity after Gone Girl. Don't know what salary she can ask for these days. She is up for an Oscar as Best Actress for Gone Girl.

Chris Pike just came out as the Prince in Into The Woods.
